The architectural profession is at a crossroads both internationally and in Singapore. We are now serving more sophisticated clients who have increasingly higher expectations, and working in an environment where some areas of expertise once exclusively within the architect’s domain is now able to be provided by others. If we do not change how we work and how we interact with our clients and the public, we risk becoming irrelevant.
The Practice Thrust aims to re-examine architectural practice to address fundamental issues concerning our delivery of professional service, value to our clients, how we contribute to the economic landscape, and our significance and relevance to society.
Practice Thrust consists of the following committees and sub-committees:
- Alternative Dispute Resolutions (ADR)
- Architecture Business (ABC)
- Building Contracts
- Construction Industry Joint Committee (CIJC) [CIJC reports directly to Council]
- Small and Medium Architectural Practice (SMAP)
- Workplace Safety & Health (WSH)
- Compliance and Standards (CS)
