Power Up Pasir Panjang – Ideas Competition

“Power-Up Pasir Panjang” – Ideas Competition for the Pasir Panjang Power District is jointly organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA) and Singapore Land Authority (SLA). The Pasir Panjang Power District was Singapore’s powerhouse in early post-war years, supplying much needed power to fuel Singapore’s push towards industrialisation. Vacated in the 1980s, the tranquil waterfront site rich in industrial heritage has the potential to be transformed into a distinctive lifestyle destination that will see the power station buildings repurposed to house new uses, attractive and inclusive public spaces created for people of all ages to enjoy and the site’s unique heritage celebrated. “Power-Up Pasir Panjang” presents an opportunity for the public to inject bold and creative ideas to give the Power District a new lease of life for the next 15-20 years. The Competition runs from 30 April 2019 to 25 June 2019, and participants may submit ideas under 2 topics.

OBJECTIVES

“Power-Up Pasir Panjang” hopes to capture public aspirations and draw fresh new ideas from the public in planning for the use of the Power District for the next 15-20 years. Useful ideas and concepts from the competition will be distilled into design principles and the brief for the subsequent use of the power district, which agencies are currently studying.
