The Design Competitions Committee governs the SIA Design Competition Guidelines and organises architectural design competitions.

SIA Design Competition Guidelines

The competition, as far as possible, must be open and should be conducted in accordance to the SIA Competition Guidelines so as to benefit both the promoter and participants and achieve a win-win situation for all and in the process further enhance the built environment for the enjoyment of the public.

In the interest of constantly improving the quality of design, Architectural services and the built environment, these competitions must adhere to the following 4 principles in order to realize and achieve the above objective:

Architecture Design Competitions

Architecture Design Competition has been promoted by the Institute as
early as the 1960s. Over the years, many notable buildings have been built through the design competition process.

Our Service

      • Appoint a member architect to prepare a proper detailed Design Brief.

      • Prepare the terms and conditions to be packaged together with the design brief for the competition

      • Recommend and select jury panel

      • Organise the competition, which will include promoting to our members and to registered architects in Singapore.

      • Provide the necessary administrative support in organizing the design competition.
