Defects can manifest in a variety of ways and at different times throughout the lifecycle of a building, from its construction to its service life. It is not always easy to distinguish defects from wear and tear, or to identify the party who is responsible for alleged defects. It is therefore unsurprising that defects are a major source of disputes in the built environment sector. This workshop will focus on the legal implications of defects, and how to navigate defects claims from both the employer’s and the contractor’s perspectives.
