About this Seminar:
The announcement of the new Infrastructure Office by Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat in his recent 2018 Budget Statement underlines the key role played by the construction sector. With many complex projects, disputes are often unavoidable. Managing the dispute resolution process in an efficient and constructive manner can bring significant benefits. This seminar will tap on the experience of 3 Senior Accredited Specialists in Building and Construction Law to explore best practices. The discussion will cover critical aspects of the process as follows:
- Managing the Issues & Documents – interplay of factual/expert issues, discovery issues, use of Scott Schedules/Redfern Schedules, etc.
- Efficient Use of Experts – how best to choose experts, managing expert evidence/reports & list of agreed/disagreed points, when to use expert witness conferencing, etc.
- “Dispute Boards – do they really work?”
