Competition: German embassy in Canberra, closes on 25 Sep

Open to architects and landscape architects – the two-stage competition seeks concept proposals for a new chancellery and residence at the site of the German embassy on the corner of Empire Circuit and Turrana Road in the centre of Australia’s capital city.

The project will see an existing chancellery building within the 1958 complex demolished to make way for a new chancellery while a nearby residence facility will be renovated. Key aims include delivering an ‘exemplary’ building that supports the German government’s ambition to see all its building stock becoming climate-neutral by 2045.
