In this era of globalization, human resources development (HRD) is essential to meet the demands and needs of the society. Creative talents who can play an active role in this knowledge-based economy, especially in digital & creative industries, green industries, and/or urban communities in this ever-evolving ASEAN region becomes key figures in this context. There are strong expectations towards professionals who are capable of respecting existing regional context, history, climate, and culture, in addition to creating new values in the community with collaboration and innovation. Nowadays, learning environment is much more than the classroom itself.
Fortunately, leading examples of higher education institutions focusing on such HRD could be found in Asia. In this symposium, distinguished keynote speakers and panels will share their expertise and insights on the innovative learning environment and discuss further on the new trends of strategies for sustainable urban development and society in Asia.
