Graphisoft 1st Edition of the user-group event for 2016, titled  “Using ARCHICAD for Submission”, will take place at Singapore Institute of Architects, 79 Neil Road, Singapore 088904 on Thursday, 17 March 2016, commencing at 5.15 pm and anticipated to end around 7.30 pm.

Speaker's Profile 
CATHERINE LOKE is a partner in Lander Loke Architects and has been practising in Singapore since 1993. She was registered as an architect in 1998.

Catherine currently serves on the Council at the Singapore Institute of Architects, and as Chairman of both the Architects' Appointment Committee and the Small & Medium Architectural Practice Committee. 

She is also currently the Chairman of the Professional Practice Examination Panel at the Board of Architects, as well as an External Examiner for the Master of Architecture programme at the National University of Singapore. 

Synopsis of talk 
Lander Loke Architects has been using ArchiCAD to streamline the design, documentation, administration and authority submission process since 2011.  Catherine will share some tips and tricks on BIM submission, in particular how the firm has cut down on the time needed to prepare amendment submissions, BCA Buildable Score and FSSD unprotected opening calculations.


GRAPHISOFT is going to host this get-together for the local ARCHICAD user-community to engage with one another, and share their experience of using ARCHICAD as their BIM platform. This event is designed to be free & easy and be the first of a series of user-group meetings in 2016 with the objective of providing a forum, among others, for

  • Getting know each other,
  • Exchanging user experiences,
  • Sharing and learning from best practices,
  • Building an effective community of ARCHICAD users and
  • Servings as a discussion platform between GRAPHISOFT, as vendor, and the user community in Singapore.

Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 30th October 2014 (then also the Minister of Finance) at the Inaugural Singapore Productivity and 20th Business Excellence Awards Ceremony said:

Singapore’s Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, during the opening of the Legal Year 2016, made mention of a possible accreditation to recognise lawyers who have achieved excellence in selected areas of specialisation including construction practitioners, as Singapore strives to export its expertise across the region. A committee led by Justice Quentin Loh is currently looking into the viability of implementing this for construction lawyers as a pilot project.

SCL(S), as a follow-on from its highly successful Engineering 101 course (2010-2015), embarks on a new programme ‘Construction Expertise 101’ to provide an understanding and appreciation of the key disciplines in the Singapore construction industry. Conducted over 2 years, the programme will be conducted over 5 evening sessions per year with one discipline per session:

During the 1st year (2017), we cover the following disciplines:
