The Workplace Safety and Health (Design for Safety) Regulations 2015 were gazetted on 10th July 2015 and come into operation on 1 August 2016. The Regulations impose duties on “designers”, defined as “the person who prepares a design plan relating to a structure [which includes buildings]”. The principal duty of a designer is to, “as far as it is reasonably practicable, prepare a design plan for the structure that eliminates all foreseeable design risks.”
